About Us
Crafting affordable special purpose vehicles has been Meridian Specialty Vehicles' passion for over 15 years. As three professional firefighters—one with a welding background, one with a fine carpentry and cabinetry background, and another with a satellite communications background—we considered ourselves uniquely qualified to build response vehicles when we founded Meridian (formerly Bridger Fire Equipment). As emergency responders, our careers required us to be well-prepared for the rigors of life-dependent situations, and we expected no less from our custom built, special purpose trucks.
So began our mission: to provide our fellow responders with high-quality, reliable vehicles, at prices their departments could afford.
Since we started manufacturing custom fire trucks in 1995, we've expanded, and so has our experience. We've realized that our unique qualifications in building emergency response vehicles translates well into fulfilling other special vehicle demands, like swat and crime scene vehicles for law enforcement agencies, and bookmobiles for libraries. That is why Meridian has chosen to broaden its focus from incident response, particularly towards encouraging literacy through outreach programs. We're also invested in preserving the planet, and specialize in incorporating affordable, eco-friendly solutions in our bookmobiles and other specialty vehicles.
Meridian combines years of first-hand experience in the market with a savvy, budget-friendly approach to building superior quality vehicles. In response to the recent economy, we're the only specialty vehicle manufacturer committed to offering the cost-saving benefits of in-stock refurbished mobile command centers. Meanwhile, low-overhead and practical designs allow us to pass on even more savings to our clients. We believe that well-appointed, reliable specialty vehicles make for better emergency scene management and stronger library outreach programs.
